BACKGROUND:

Malaysia is a young and vibrant nation which has undergone an interesting nation building exercise based on a rich heritage of different ethnic, language and religious communities. The different histories that many communities came with in the inception of this nation has slowly distilled into what is called a Malaysian nation. Malaysians embrace the differences of their race, culture and practices. It was through this spirit that Malaysia stands out among other countries because it is able to celebrate the many various cultures from different ethnicity in the country harmoniously. However, the social fabric which unites all Malaysians have begun to erode today. The consciousness of an ethnic identity permeates deeply in every community and this is felt very strongly in both the public and private sectors. It stands challenged by the nation at large searching for another landscape that can incorporate a more equitable balance that gives equal voices to all Malaysians.

In our history, there are many examples of Malaysian innovators who keeps trying different approaches to combat racial discrimination; yet, the work is too few, too little.
