Regional Coalitions
CIVICUS
CIVICUS is a global alliance of civil society organisations and activists established in 1993 dedicated to strengthening citizen action and civil society throughout the world. KOMAS is a voting member of CIVICUS.
FORUM-ASIA
Founded in 1991, FORUM-ASIA works to strengthen movements for human rights and sustainable development through research, advocacy, capacity-development and solidarity actions in Asia and beyond. It has sub-regional offices in Geneva, Jakarta, and Kathmandu. KOMAS is an accredited member of Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development.
ASPBAE
The Asia South Pacific Association for Basic and Adult Education (ASPBAE) is a regional network of more than 200 civil society organisations and individuals operating in around 30 countries of the Asia-Pacific. ASPBAE works towards promoting the right to quality education and transformative and liberating lifelong adult education and learning for all.
AICHR
The ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) is an integral part of ASEAN organisational structure and an overarching institution which is responsible for the promotion and protection of human rights in ASEAN.
ASEAN's People's Forum
The ASEAN’s People’s Forum, also known as the ASEAN Civil Society Conference (ACSC), is an annual event bringing civil societies from around the region together to discuss pressing socio-political issues.
Local Coalitions
COMANGO
The Coalition of Malaysian NGOs in the UPR Process (COMANGO) was formed by civil society organisations in 2008 to engage in the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the United Nations. It is one of the biggest civil society coalition of its kind in the UPR process, comprising of over 40 organisations.
CSO Platform for Reform
The CSO Platform for Reform is a coalition of about 90 CSOs across all regions in Malaysia focusing on institutional reforms for a better Malaysia for all.
