Code of Conduct for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities through the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

The Code of Conduct is a collaboration by Pusat KOMAS, SUHAKAM and Penang Institute which started in 2016 and was adopted by the Penang State Assembly in 2020. It functions to prevent discriminatory practices that may potentially infringe the rights of individuals in the employment sector. The elimination of racial discrimination will allow for a sustainable socio-economic development by guaranteeing a stable, fair and equal employment opportunities as well as increasing the prospect of attracting more investment, procurement and top-quality recruits are higher as good business practices demonstrated by these companies will reduce unrest among employees, resulting an increased productivity as all parties are treated equally with dignity.
KOMAS Code of Conduct

Code of Ethics for the Promotion of Inclusivity and Harmony through the Prohibition of Hate Speech

A joint effort by Pusat KOMAS, SUHAKAM and IDE, the Code of Ethics promotes the conduct for equal treatment amongst Members of the Selangor Legislative Assembly. It prohibits the advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence. Instead, it aims to facilitate and reinforce the implementation and protection of human rights in difficult contexts. All conduct in the State Assembly must denounce the following: Racial Discrimination, Racism and Hate Speech.

Grassroots Engagement

We conduct the Bangsa Malaysia Education: A Training on Non-Discrimination, workshops and other programmes with community organisations to raise awareness about the effects of racism and racial discrimination, as well as provide educational resource tools for local grassroot community workers to address racism and discriminatory practices in their community.
