A Malaysia Popular Communication Center
Pusat Komas, is a popular communications center set up in August 1993 after two years of close consultation among several grassroot organisations and individuals in Malaysia. It was established with the main intention of servicing the organising needs of groups involved in a whole range of issues in Malaysia today.
What is popular communications?
Popular Communications (PC) was originally developed in Latin America by popular educators and community organizers who applied this method of using creative and participatory forms of communication for organizing work among the rural farmers.
Today, PC has been innovated by its practitioners according to their socio-cultural context, economic-political environment and most important of all the appropriate needs of the grassroot people.
